I Was Enchanted to Meet You: Part Three

" Can't we let him stay?"

" No, Rapunzel! Don't you understand? He could be crazy, insane- he's shouting nonsense about a princess and magic....he could be dangerous!"

" Does he look DANGEROUS to you?!" Rapunzel exclaimed, pointing a finger over in Hiccup's direction.


The Andalaisian was finally fast asleep, curled up on the living room couch in one of Rapunzel's old nightgowns.


Jack sighed, looking at him sadly.

" No." He grumbled.

" Then it's settled. You don't even have to be around him, i'll take care of him. You leave him alone."

" But how long-"

" Somebody will come looking for him eventually. We can't just leave him on his own, Jack, he'll never make it."

Jack couldn't argue with her- she was right. Crazy or not, Hiccup wouldn't last an hour on the harsh streets of New York City.


" Mm. Sleep in my room tonight. I'll protect you if anything happens."

Hiccup whimpered, opening his eyes.


" Toothless? Hookfang?....Astrid?"

He sat up on the couch, clutching the blanket.


The apartment.

Jack and Rapunzel.


He whimpered a little louder, tears forming in the corners of his eyes.

He jumped up, walking quickly down the hall and pushing open the doors.


The last door on the left was Jack's room, and him and Rapunzel were fast asleep by that time.


"...Jack?" Hiccup whispered, sitting on the floor next to the bed and poking the teen's forehead.

"....Mm?" He whimpered when there was no response.


Pout.


Hiccup pushed Jack slightly further back on the bed, climbing up next to him and snuggling him. In his sleep, Jack was inclined to put his arm around Hiccup's small form, pulling him closer.

Jack woke up in an extremely confused state, pausing for a moment as new morning light flooded in through the curtains.


"...What."


He withdrew his arm from Hiccup, awkwardly staring at him. The Andalasian woke at the sound of his voice, staring up at him with sleepy green eyes.

" I had a bad dream."


"...Uh-huh.."


...


The sewer grate flew into the air, slamming into a nearby building.


" Do not fear, Hiccup! I shall RESCUE you!"


Princess Astrid leapt from the portal, Toothless perched on her shoulder, sword drawn.


The hustle and bustle of the city was not dazzling enough to distract the princess, she leapt from her stand, racing amongst the cars and taxis, the sound of wedding bells still ringing in her ears.
